Aiming on Addressing Stunting in Tanzania Early (ASTUTE), to improve early childhood development through preventing stunting among Tanzanian children aged between 0-2 yrs old, with focus on the first 1000 days of life from conception.
Mtoto Mwerevu project is implemented within in five regions of Tanzania mainland includes Kagera, Mwanza, Shinyanga, Geita and Kigoma. Fadhili Teens Tanzania is implementing Mtoto Mwerevu project within five wards of Bujashi,Bujora,Chabula,Kongolo and Lutale within Magu District in Mwanza region.
The ASTUTE project is funded by the Government of the United Kingdom via UKAID as part of its commitment to address stunting within the mentioned 5 Regions.IMA World Health is the core leader of this project and its Implementing the ASTUTE project in a collaboration with Partnership for Nutrition in Tanzania (PANITA), Development Media International (DMI) and Cornell University’s Division of Nutritional Sciences.
The project implemented by FADHILI TEENS TANZANIA together with mentioned partner targeting to support Government of Tanzania on reducing stunting among children aged 0-2yrs old at least for 7% and low birth weight by at least 3%. All this targeted to be achieved through transforming and sustaining behaviors, building capacity and investing in maternal, infant and young child feeding, early childhood development, hygiene and sanitation, promoting Homestead food production and addressing gender imbalances.
