WAJIBIKA project are achieve significant gains in promoting active citizen participation, transparency and accountability at community level. Various studies have shown that social accountability is achieved when people know and claim their rights, when the local decision-makers know and fulfil their obligations and when people and decision-makers are in a dialogue and cooperate in order to work for development. This is supported by The World Bank Source Book for Social Accountability which lists three core elements common to most social accountability approaches. These include (i) accessing information, (ii) Making the Voice of citizens heard, and (iii) engaging in a process of negotiation for change
